In Amsterdam they manage to ride a bike, use a mobile phone and drink coffee - all at the same time. And not fall off the bike or cause an accident on the road. Which is something considering the amount of bikes there.

So if they can do it, why can't I ride a bike holding an umbrella? I'm sick of getting soaked wet every damn time it's raining and I'm on the bike. So why can't I? But wait! I can! And I did it today on my way home from work. It was fun. And much easier than I thought it would.

Some people were looking at me like I had just grown a second head

a blue guitar, a set of stars, or those exactly who they are
hah, that's great. I've never done that, but I guess I may try sometime. when I have a bike.

a couple days ago I went on a walk and managed to get soaked wet in Soho. I meant to go further, to the river and stuff, but even after a cafe detour, it was still pouring. And then stopping, and then pouring again, which was KINDA ANNOYING. And if you know me, you'll know I don't take an umbrella with me unless it's raining outside at that specific time, and it WASN'T raining outside when I went to Pulkovo on 11th August :-D and I would never spend my money on that stuff in the UK. not to mention that I only had sandals with me so it was no use, my feet would get wet anyway. Oh wait, they already did!
and so I decided to return to the hostel (and my tablet and phone needed a recharge, too). But I would still have to walk about an hour! I briefly considered hiring a bike (you know this service they have all over the place in London? I think it's called Salamander or smth), I wouldn't even mind riding in the rain :-D After all, I was already wet. But a brief inspection showed that they require some specific cards and I decided I wouldn't bother. Eh.
I didn't spend ANY money on public transport in London this time, you know :-D

AlexReits, you're welcome.) If you try it, hold an umbrella in your non-dominant hand.

Verit, oh yeah, I totally know what you're talking about. That kind of rain (pouring than stopping than pouring again) once drenched my boots that were supposed to be waterproof! And not just waterproof but waterproof AND for outdoor activities. And I don't think that strolling in Hyde Park considered as such.

I would never spend my money on that stuff in the UK
I was forced to buy an umbrella in Budapest once. The rain went on and on and it was November so it was kinda cold. A piece of crap! It was broken in a day. A DAY CARL (btw is this mem used in English?)

Wait! Are we talking about the weather? Are we talking about the british weather? In English no less. It's a dangerous business Frodo... :-D

Barclays? It was called Barclays the last time I saw it.

And I hope by that you mean that you didn't use any transport and not that you did and just didn't pay for it :gigi:

a blue guitar, a set of stars, or those exactly who they are
haha. yeah, well. It was raining pretty much 90% of the time I was there? Which I really don't mind, but my clothes were NOT fit for that. Well, clothes were okay, but shoes, gdi.

HAH noo I don't think they use it as much. I don't think llamas in hats are as popular in English-speaking circles of the internet :-D but that's understandable, since Russian dub is SO FUCKING PERFECT

I knooooow, yes, we are! xDDDD I generally wouldn't, but, y'know. It made SUCH an impression.

Barclays? It was called Barclays the last time I saw it.
Nnnope, although the name is familiar. That's the one I meant: tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/santander-cycles They're everywhere!

Haha, no. I was considering it, but nope. I just didn't use buses or subway, even when I wanted to.

Verit, 90% of the time? Haha I think I would've worn my flip-flops instead of proper shoes.
I've been thinking about the grammar in this sentence all day. I'm not sure the unreal past is ok. Even though we are talking about the exact situation in the past, my answer is more about the situation in general, so maybe it is more appropriate to say "I would wear..."?

What it has to do with llamas? This mem is originally from The Walking Dead. I've just checked to be sure.
Thanks for the llamas in hats recommendation though. I laughed my ass off

They must've changed the sponsor. Because it used to be like this:
